Stockholm, Sweden

along the river in Stockholm

One of the reasons I chose to move to Madrid in October was because I found a super cheap flight to Stockholm via Norwegian Airlines (travel tip for Europe: if you can travel in the low season, Norwegian offers great deals into Oslo and Stockholm!). Since my flight was so cheap, some friends decided to join me in Stockholm for a few days before I moved.

Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, is cold! I didn’t know too much about the city other than Sweden is the home to IKEA and H&M but I really enjoyed my time there. The public transportation is really good and the city is very walkable. We got the Stockholm Card, which is unfortunately discontinued, and were able to enjoy all the museums (there are A LOT of museums in Stockholm) and metros for free.

My favorite things from Stockholm: the Vasa Museum was incredible and you have to try Smörgåstårta, a sandwich cake. Food is quite expensive there and I wouldn’t say it’s amazing but we did take the bus to IKEA and got Swedish meatballs! We also visited an ice bar which was pricey but fun.
